Mini World Summer 2008 issue has another of my Minicos bodykits on the cover.

This stunning Turbo wide arch car, with bright yellow paintwork, is a car that you find hard to miss.

I designed the Minicos kit to overcome the difficulties many customers experienced with the Fortek kit, which seemed very popular, but with less than 10% (our figures) of all Fortek kits sold ever being fitted, it seemed that customers were just not able to fit the kits.

The concept was to turn the race car kit that the Fortek was, into something a little more suited to the road (Fortek never had skirts, or rear bumper originally), and at the same time make it a little easier to fit.

This project was a complete success with great sales, and we estimate that around 75% of all kits are fitted, which is an astronomical increase.

Here we have some new photos of the BMW MINI (first generation) Turbo conversion that we offer.

This superb conversion takes a 90 bhp MINI ONE and turns it into a 200bhp monster, that has more power, more driveablity, better  emissions, and better fuel economy, and runs lower boost that the standard Cooper S from BMW.

The conversion can also be fitted to the MINI Cooper, and we have a similar looking kit that can be fitted to the Cooper S in addition to the supercharger (or replacing it) and can easily perform a 300 bhp conversion.

Our Turbo conversions all use external wastegates because this is the only way to go if you want superb power and efficiency, and polished stainless parts for most items. The kit pictured made 205 bhp on an otherwise standard MINI ONE, and an incredible 195 lb/ft of Torque.

Its always nice to see your own work in print, and more-so when the entire external design of the car is your own exotic creation.

Below you can see a Saxo I built a few years ago, on the Cover of the April 2008 issue of Performance French Cars. We designed, built the one-off fibreglass items, installed them all and painted the car. It also has our Lambo Doors, and we also installed the hydraulic system on the car.

We are pleased to announce that we have just finished the moulds for the new Honda Civic Animal Kit.

The Kit includes front bumper, rear bumper, and side skirts. All parts can be purchased separately or as a kit, and full details will be on the Animal website at www.animalkits.co.uk shortly.

These are the plugs (from which the moulds are taken) having their last trial fit on the car prior to the moulds being made. Why Yellow - thats what we were painting at the time. Proper pictures available shortly.

We are pleased to anouncce our new PT Cruiser air suspension kit. Using the latest technology in air bags this kit uses Quantum airbags on the front for a superb ride and superb handling.

Our test vehicle drove and handled far better with air than on its original coil springs. These new kits are such a step forward that air now offers suspension handling better than original, almost as good handling as a “coil spring conversion”, combined with the comfort and ride of the original suspension, and the core ability that first attracts everyone to air, and thats the ability to lift/drop the car at the touch of a button.

It really is the best of all worlds.

I was travelling back from delivering a car to London the other day (PT Cruiser on air suspension - listed at www.airride.co.uk) and came back from Lowestoft via train when I met a pretty unusual sight - a car had tried to turn onto the tracks!!

I had my Camera and took a couple of pictures to show people as I didn’t think anyone would believe that someone had tried to turn onto the tracks.

When the trains finally got going again (90 minutes later) another passenger said I should send the pics to the EDP (Eastern Daily Press Newspaper), which I did later that night. Continue reading this item…

We have run the air suspension opperation from just a single, rough looking page on the website for some time, and I have finally had time (I don’t know how) to update the site.

The airride site is dedicated to our air suspension systems, and installation of such, and can be found at www.airride.co.uk . The site should work as soon as the nameserver propogate, but is a little short of content at the moment - please check back as I fill it up a bit.

There are to be videos, and gallery photos once I get it all sorted.

I currently get a huge volume of calls every day in regard to air suspension and I hope that the FAQ section will be expanded as people ask me questions.

The Fortek is one of the nicest, but also one of the most difficult Mini kits to fit. Over the years I have done quite a number, but I suspect that a great number of the kits sold never get fitted because customers simply do not know where to start.

I hope that this page gives a few hints and tips, and outlines a procedure I have learnt in 20 years fitting these kits.
